Anne Pinchera is Prior Learning Assessment Coordinator in the Assessment Unit at Excelsior College. Along with her responsibilities in Prior Learning Assessment, she is actively involved with alternative methods of assessment in simulations and Anne Marie Pincheraanimations. An active participant at the CAEL conventions for the past few years, she is currently in the process of developing a publication for portfolio assessment covering evaluating portfolios in hard copy and electronic formats. Anne is a member of AAEEBL, an international portfolio development community, Microsoft DreamSpark, Association for Virtual Life, and is involved with Second Life as a means of assessing adult learning. Her conference participation includes a panel discussion at the Thomas Edison College National Adult Assessment Conference in Princeton, roundtable discussions on Skills for the Twenty-First Century, Characteristics of the Adult Learner, and Conceptual Image of Adult Learners at the CAEL International Conference; Faculty Training in Portfolio at the AAEEBL Conference in Boston; and Portfolio Development for Twenty-First Century Skills and The Learning Tree Conceptual Format in Adult Learners at the CAPLA Workshop in Canada.
