Anne Marie Pinchera, USA
Anne Pinchera is a prior learning assessment coordinator in the assessment unit at Excelsior College - www.excelsior.edu Along with her responsibilities in prior learning assessment, she is actively involved with alternative methods of assessment in simulations and animations. An active participant at the CAEL conventions for the past few years, she is currently in the process of developing a publication for portfolio assessment covering evaluating portfolios in hard copy and electronic formats.
Anne is a member of AAEEBL, an international portfolio development community, Microsoft DreamSpark, Association for Virtual Life, and is involved with Second Life as a means of assessing adult learning. Her conference participation includes a panel discussion at the Thomas Edison College national adult assessment conference in Princeton, roundtable discussions on skills for the twenty-first century, characteristics of the adult learner, and conceptual image of adult learners at the CAEL international conference; faculty training in portfolio at the AAEEBL conference in Boston; and portfolio development for twenty-first century skills and the learning tree conceptual format in adult learners at the CAPLA workshop in Canada.
Anne is an instructional designer consultant and began using photos from her personal collection. When Anne began incorporating technology, while looking for more variety, she progressed to a camcorder to record course content using characters she created. The material she produces is progressing as she incorporated tools such as Final Cut and audio mixes to make her productions come to life. Anne holds a BA in Psychology from Farleigh Dickinson University, a BS in Computer Science from Upsala College, Microsoft certifications in networking and MS Office, a Masters of Education in Knowledge Management and Corporate Training from Jones International University. Currently she is an Ed.D. candidate at Liberty University, where she is conducting research for a doctorate in Education, with a concentration in higher education Leadership. In addition to her research on the non-traditional student, her other publications include journal articles on portfolio assessment and a full CD-ROM course in Dreamweaver.
Dirk Van Waelderen, Belgium
Dirk is a coordinator at the mobility office of HUB - Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, Academic Division, Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Language and Literature, and the Faculty of Law.
